A NEW HOPE The Empire has risen, fear has grown, and one last hope awaits... The leader of the evil Empire, Darth Vader has plans to dominate the entire galaxy. On the desert planet of Tatooine, a young man finally gets his dream to become a Jedi. His aunt and uncle killed by Vader's Storm Troopers, Luke Skywalker has no choice, but to save the desperate young Princess Leia, with the help of the wise Obi-Wan Kenobi, Han Solo and his Wookie pilot. What Vader wants, is yet to be known....

Time Setting:

A New Hope takes place around the time when Luke Skywalker, son of Anakin Skywalker is introduced. Luke lives on the desert planet of Tatooine with his aunt and uncle. He's a dreamer; he wants to fly high, towards the stars and become a Jedi, to fulfill his life-long dream. The Dark Side has risen, and is in hiding on the moon-sized Death Star. The Death Star is the source of the Dark Side's secret operations, it's lethal enough to destroy an entire planet.

Characters:

The characters in A New Hope are as follows: Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamil), the young dreamer, who wants to be a Jedi. He lives on the desert planet of Tattooine with his Uncle Owen and Aunt Beru. He has never seen his mother nor his father. The strange disappearance of them are thoughts that never leave his mind. When he gets two droids to help with the farm, he discovers that they're not just ordinary droids; they're Ben Kenobi's droids. One of the droids, R2-D2, has an urgent call from Princess Leia Organa (Carrie Fisher), where she lies in the shadows of fear for the galaxy. The Sith Lord, Darth Vader had plans to rule the galaxy at all costs with a deadly machine, the Death Star.

The Release:

The release of A New Hope was one of the largest events in the world. When it came out in theaters in 1977, there were tons of people waiting in line to see this sci-fi masterpiece.

Locations:

The locations that made their appearance in Episode IV included Luke's home-planet of Tattooine, Mos Eisley, Alderan, the Rebel Base, and the Death Star

Enemies:

The enemies in this first Star Wars movie is mostly just the Empire, which is controlled by Darth Vader and his master, Emperor Palpatine.
